Rayat Shikshan Sanstha's Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil College, (formerly known as Modern College) Vashi, Navi Mumbai is the first “Autonomous College” in Navi Mumbai that provides quality education in Science, Commerce and Arts streams as well as Self finance courses at undergraduate, postgraduate level and Research importantly. The institution has a research Centre where researchers seek admission for Post Graduate by research, M. Phil. and Ph.D.

This college was established in 1979, it is reaccredited for the third cycle by NAAC with an A+ grade and CGPA 3.53 in 2017. It is an ISO 9001:2015 certified institute which has a vision to work for a “Better Tomorrow” through the educational advancement of society while keeping social justice and social obligations in mind. In alignment with our pursuit of excellence, the Department of Science and Technology selected our college for the FIST scheme, granting Rs. 80 lakh to enhance science laboratories and facilitate e-learning. Notably, we received the "BEST COLLEGE AWARD" from the University of Mumbai in the Urban Category in 2012-13, a testament to our commitment to educational superiority. Additionally, the Department of Biotechnology recognized our college under the "STAR COLLEGE SCHEME" in 2014 and conferred STAR STATUS in 2019, further endorsing our accomplishments in the fields of physics, chemistry, and microbiology.

Recent infrastructural developments, including the acquisition of advanced instrumentation, demonstrate our dedication to providing a conducive environment for research and academic pursuits. Financial support from government agencies has enabled us to enhance our technical capabilities, with departments now offering consultancy services in their respective domains.

Addressing the pressing challenge of unemployment, the college has implemented various initiatives to enhance students' employability, including 29 skill-based/enrichment courses and programs like "Campus to Corporate" and "Tata Strive" in collaboration with corporate partners.

Recognizing the integral role of research in education, the institute has established four research centers and undertaken numerous research projects. Faculty members and students have contributed significantly to academia, publishing 432 research papers in reputable national and international journals and conference proceedings.
